The surging St. Louis Cardinals look to win a second straight series in Wednesday’s finale against the Baltimore Orioles.

Winners of four of their last five games, the St. Louis Cardinals wrap up their three-game series on Wednesday night in search of the series win over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The Cardinals will send veteran right-hander Miles Mikolas (4-2, 3.51 ERA) to the mound as he goes for his fourth win in as many starts, having allowed a total of two earned runs in his last three outings. The Orioles will counter with second-year southpaw Cade Povich (1-3, 4.86 ERA), who is winless in his last four starts, but has allowed three earned runs or less in three of the last four appearances.

Cardinals second baseman Brendan Donovan ranks seventh in Major League Baseball with his team leading .328 batting average and comes into Wednesday’s finale on a three-game hitting streak despite being scratched from Tuesday’s game with hip tightness. Donovan, a seventh round selection by St. Louis in the 2018 MLB Draft, made his big-league debut in April 2022 and hit .281 with over 100 hits. Donovan was the first-ever utility player to win a Gold Glove in 2022 and was a finalist for the National League Rookie of the Year award.

Hitting a career high .340, Orioles right fielder Ryan O’Hearn is on a seven-game hit streak, leading Baltimore in hits and total bases and is one home run away from his third consecutive double-digit home run season after hitting a career-high 15 last season.

St. Louis has dominated this series of late, winning six of the last seven meetings overall and three of the last four in Baltimore dating back to Sept. 2023.
