How to Watch Cardinals at Reds (April 30): Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

With Game 2 being postponed on Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds will host the St. Louis Cardinals for a doubleheader on Wednesday.

The Cincinnati Reds will play a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday in this four-game series. The Reds are on a tear, winning five games in a row and are now three games above .500. Cincinnati is just 1.5 games back now of first place in the National League Central behind the Chicago Cubs. After winning their last series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cardinals are now trying to avoid losing three games in a row. The Cardinals remain just 2-12 away from St. Louis. The doubleheader is necessary after Game 2 of this series was postponed due to severe weather at Great American Ballpark. The first game will start at 12:40 p.m. ET, while the second game will start at 6:40 p.m. ET.

The Reds won a close pitcher’s duel on Monday to take the opener 3-1. Nick Martinez earned his first win of the season, going six innings while only giving up five hits and one run. Andre Pallante did not pitch bad at all for the Cardinals, going six innings while giving up three runs on six hits. The Cardinals did score the first run of the game on a Nolan Arenado RBI double in the first inning, but were shut out the rest of the way. Jose Trevino got the tying run of the game in the third on a homer and Noelvi Marte hit a RBI triple to drive home what turned out to be the winning run in the fourth.

Tuesday’s scheduled starters will naturally be slotted to start the first game of this double header. That means Miles Mikolas will start for St. Louis with a 0-2 record with a 5.70 ERA. The Reds will start Brady Singer, who is 4-0 with a 3.62 ERA. For the nightcap, St. Louis will start Steven Matz, who is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA. This four-game set will finish on Thursday.
