St. Louis shutout Cincinnati in Game 1 which was also the makeup game from Tuesday by a 6-0 final. The game was as dominant of a win as the final box score may look. Masyn Winn hit a homer in the first inning but the Cardinals didn’t score again until the ninth inning where they went off for five runs. That was highlighted by three consecutive homers by Victor Scott II, Lars Nootbaar, and Winn hitting his second of the afternoon. Miles Mikolas pitched a great game to earn the win going 5.1 scoreless innings while only giving up three hits.

St. Louis did not slow down at all in the second game of the double header winning 9-1. Gordon Graceffo got the win going five innings giving up two hits and only one run. St. Louis got out to a hot start with Wilson Contreras hit a three-run homer in the first inning Pedro Pages added a solo homer to add all the offense St. Louis would need to sweep the double header. Matthew Liberatore will finish off this series for the Cardinals who are looking for three wins in a row. The lefty is 2-2 with a 3.19 ERA. The Reds will look to bounce back by starting Andrew Abbott who is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA.
