It was a very efficient offensive game for the Cardinals, who totaled 13 hits and added five more walks, while going 4-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Designated hitter Ivan Herrera drove in a team-high four runs in a 2-for-5 performance, while right fielder Alec Burleson went 3-for-5 and hit his sixth home run of the year.

With that win the Cardinals have now won two of their last three. It was also a key road win for St. Louis, with the team 16-20 away from Busch Stadium this year.

Righty Sonny Gray will get the start for the Cardinals on Wednesday looking for his eighth win of the year in his 15th start. He’ll be opposed by White Sox righty Sean Burke.

The White Sox are trying to snap a six-game losing streak. They were swept by the Texas Rangers over the weekend, and went 1-5 on a road trip that also included a visit to the Houston Astros.
