The Dodgers were down 4-3 in the ninth on Friday, but Mookie Betts could tie it up on a sac fly to send the game into extras. It was nearly a grand slam that would have ended it, but that run set up the dramatics for Will Smith in the tenth. Smith singled to bring home Trea Turner which won the game on four unanswered runs by the Dodgers.
The road won’t get any easier tonight as Los Angeles will start Clayton Kershaw. He is cruising along at his normal great pace going 5-2 with a 2.57 ERA. Marcus Stroman will go for Chicago. He is 2-5 with a 5.32 ERA.
