It’s the second contest of a four-game series between the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. Watch free on Fubo.

The San Francisco Giants are set to host the Colorado Rockies again today at Oracle Park, as they hope to avenge an opening-game loss to start the series. This is a divisional series, meaning the importance is even greater for both squads as it can have an even more significant impact on how the standings shift.

The Giants are 19-13, which is only good for third place in the loaded National League West. They’ve gone just 5-5 in their last 10 games, which doesn’t help, but this series provides a great opportunity to climb the standings with a few weekend wins.

At 6-25, the Rockies are one of the worst teams in baseball and sit last in the NL West. They’ve lost eight of their last 10 games, despite winning the opening contest of this series.

Although Colorado doesn’t appear to be a team with the talent to make the postseason, San Francisco certainly does. Even then, with how competitive this division is, it will take an incredible season to even make that happen. The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are both ahead of the Giants in the standings and likely won’t show many signs of slowing down when it comes to winning this season.

Following this contest, the Rockies and Giants will play again on Saturday and then Sunday to close out the series. From there, San Francisco is set to travel to Chicago to take on the Cubs, while Colorado heads back home to host the Detroit Tigers next.
