Cade Horton struggled and gave up seven runs in the loss. The Cubs would score the last four runs of the game, but it wasn’t enough in the 7-4 setback. The loss dropped the Cubs to 48-34 on the season and their lead in the NL Central is down to two games over the Milwaukee Brewers. Saturday they will send Colin Rea to the mound as they try to even the series. Rea is 4-3 with a 4.42 ERA on the season. He had his worst outing of the season on Sunday as he gave up seven runs on 11 hits in a loss to the Seattle Mariners.

The Astros will counter with Lance McCullers Jr. as they try to clinch the series win. McCullers is coming off the 15-day IL on Saturday to make the start.

He had a foot injury and hasn’t started since June 10th. He went five innings in that start and gave up four runs to the Chicago White Sox. He would take the loss as the Astros fell 4-2.

The win on Friday was the fifth in a row for the Astros and pushed their record to 49-33 on the season.

They currently sit in first place in the AL West, six and a half games up on the second-place Mariners.
