The Chicago Cubs open up a six-game road trip on Monday night when they take on the Miami Marlins. The Cubs are coming off a six-game home stand in which they went 5-1. They took two of three from the Marlins before sweeping the Chicago White Sox in three games. The run has pushed the Cubs to a season-high nine games over .500 at 28-19. They currently sit in first place in the NL Central, two games up on the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cubs will send Ben Brown to the mound in the first game of their road trip. Brown comes into Monday night 3-3 with a 4.75 ERA. His last start was also against the Marlins and he went five and a third innings in that outing. He gave up two runs on five hits, but didn’t record the win. The Cubs would earn a 5-4 win thanks to a three-run ninth inning.

The Marlins will counter with Edwards Cabrera as they try to snap the Cubs’ three-game winning streak.

This will be his first start since he took the mound on May 10 against the Chicago White Sox.

He went five innings of one-run ball in that start, but he did not pick up a decision. The Marlins would win the game 3-1.

The Marlins come into Monday fresh off a series win against the Tampa Bay Rays. They have now won three of their last four games to move to 18-27 on the season.
