The Arizona Diamondbacks look to clinch a series win over the Atlanta Braves when the two teams hit the field on Wednesday night. The Diamondbacks came to town on Tuesday and took the opener 8-3. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll both homered twice to help the Diamondbacks take the first game of the series. The win was the second in a row for the Diamondbacks and pushed their record to 29-31 on the season. They currently sit in fourth place in the National League West, 7.5 games back of the first place Los Angeles Dodgers. Wednesday the Diamondbacks will send Merrill Kelly to the mound as they try to win a third straight game. Kelly comes into Tuesday 5-2 with a 3.78 ERA. He has struggled a bit in his last two starts, giving up 10 combined runs. The Diamondbacks have lost both of those starts and have dropped five of his last seven.

Despite the 3-3 record, Sale has pitched well in his last three starts. He has given up just two combined runs in 20 innings.

The Braves have alternated wins and losses over his last seven starts. They did win his last start and will be looking to win a second straight for the first time since the end of April.

The loss on Tuesday was the second straight for the Braves and dropped them to 27-32 on the season. They now sit in fourth place in the NL East, a half-game back of the Washington Nationals and 10 back of the first place New York Mets.
