Verlander is still looking for his first win since joining the Giants. The future hall of famer dropped to 0-3 on the season, getting the loss despite going six innings and striking out five. Arizona’s Merrill Kelly was just a bit sharper going seven innings, striking out eight and giving up one run on a RBI single from Christian Koss in the fifth to improve to 4-2.

We should be in for another great pitching matchup today. The Diamondbacks will go for the series win by starting Brandon Pfaadt. The righty is 6-2 with a 3.28 ERA. The Giants will go for the series tie by starting Robbie Ray. The lefty has yet to lose this season with a 5-0 record with a 2.84 ERA.
