These two will play again next week in Phoenix, AZ. The giants are trying to avoid losing three in a row tonight. Arizona and San Francisco both can’t afford to lose many more games this season. The Giants lost their last two games by just one run apiece. San Francisco dropped the rubber match on Sunday afternoon, losing to the Cardinals 4-3. Arizona’s four-game winning streak ended on Sunday afternoon, missing out on the sweep against the Boston Red Sox at home by a 7-4 final. Boston manager Alex Cora earned his 600th career win in the process. The game was tied going into the ninth, but pinch hitter Nick Sogard hit a tie-breaking two-run double to spark a three-run inning. Aroldis Chapman shut it down like usual in the bottom of the ninth, and extended his hitless streak to 17 games. The Diamondbacks will try to get back in the win column tonight by starting Nabil Crismatt, who is 2-0 with a 2.14 ERA in three starts this season.
