The Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals both have a shot at the series win in this finale on Sunday from the nation’s capital.

The Washington Nationals host the Arizona Diamondbacks for this rubber match to decide the series winner on Sunday afternoon. The Nationals tied this series in a much needed win on Saturday that ended a four-game losing streak. Washington was just 1-7 coming into the 4-3 win. Arizona fell to 5-4 with the loss but it is the -180 favorites on the road for this finale before they go back to Phoenix for a six-game homestand. This is after the Diamondbacks won the opener 6-4 after Corbin Carroll hit two homers and Randal Grichuk hit a tie-breaking double in the seventh.

Game 2 on Saturday was another close affair with the Nationals winning by just a run. The Nationals got off to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Alex Call got the fourth and final run for the Nationals that proved to be the game winner with a single to drive in DH Josh Bell. Mitchell Parker helped snag the win turning in a great start as he has now earned both of Washington’s wins this season. Parker went six innings giving up just two hits and one earned run. The Diamondbacks got back within one run in the ninth inning but the rally finished just shy.

The Nationals have yet to announce a starter for this finale. The Diamondbacks will go for the series win by starting one of their best in Corbin Burnes. The righty went 4.1 innings in an eventual 7-5 win against the New York Yankees. Burnes gave up four hits and two runs while also giving up two homers. With those New York torpedo bats, it’s kind of inevitable at this point but he did also strike out eight batters.
