They are still the No. 2 team in the NL East, sitting 3.5 games behind the MLB and divisional-leading New York Mets.

Arizona will opt to put Merrill Kelly on the mound to start this weekend’s series. The right-hander is 3-1 this season with a 4.41 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 32.2 innings pitched. He gave up two earned runs on four hits in 6.0 innings in his last start. He ended up walking one batter and striking out four against the Atlanta Braves.

Jesus Luzardo will take the mound in the first inning for Philadelphia in this opening game. The left-hander is undefeated this season with a 3-0 record and a 1.73 ERA. He has been one of MLB’s best pitchers this season. He had 41 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. He threw 6.0 scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs in his last start, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts.
