The Arizona Diamondbacks look to keep rolling when they take on the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.

The Arizona Diamondbacks go for their fifth straight game without a loss when they travel to take on the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. The Diamondbacks were riding a three-game winning streak until Saturday when they tied the San Francisco Giants 7-7. Arizona looked like it had the win in the bag going up 7-3 in the seventh after a two-run homer by Randal Grichuk. But San Francisco kept chipping away, scoring in the eighth and then three more in the ninth.

Third baseman Sabin Ceballos doubled to center in the bottom of the ninth for three RBIs to tie the game. Merrill Kelly started the game for Arizona, going five innings while giving up three runs on three hits. He had gone scoreless up until the fourth inning when he gave up back-to-back-to-back home runs. Before that he had retired nine consecutive batters. It was an encouraging start for Kelly even if it didn’t end the way he would have wanted.

Chicago is trying to avoid losing three in a row today after dropping to the Colorado Rockies 10-4 on Saturday. Chicago was never really in the game, as the Rockies were up 7-2 after the fifth inning. It was a split-squad day for Chicago, as they also lost 14-1 against the Seattle Mariners. The White Sox scored in the first, but didn’t score again. The losses were the least of Chicago’s worries on Saturday, as the team announced that starter Drew Thorpe would undergo Tommy John surgery. The righty was working his way back from a right elbow injury this spring. Thorpe came over from San Diego last spring in the trade for Dylan Cease.
