Tony Gonsolin will battle on the mound with David Peterson as the Dodgers meet the Mets on Saturday in the second game of the series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will continue a three-game series in Queens, New York, on Saturday afternoon in the second game of this weekend’s series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. It took 13 innings to get a winner in the first game of this dynamic series between two of the MLB’s best teams. The West Coast team pulled out the first win, 7-5, with Luis Garcia getting the win after 2.1 scoreless innings. Teoscar Hernandez, just back from injury, had three RBIs in the game, including one in the 13th inning to help secure the victory.

Andy Pages had an RBI in the fifth inning and was the other batter with Hernandez, to have an RBI in the game-winning 13th inning. Jeff McNeil finished with two RBIs for the Mets on his only hit of the night after coming in for Brandon Nimmo. Pete Alonso, Tyrone Taylor, and Brett Baty had the other RBIs for New York in the loss.

Tony Gonsolin will take the mound for Los Angeles in the second game of this series. The right-hander is looking for his third win of the season and to stay undefeated, currently with a 2-0 record and a 4.05 ERA. He has 24 strikeouts through 20.0 innings this season. Gonsolin struck out three batters while giving up four earned runs on four hits in four innings in his last start.

New York will start the game with David Peterson on the mound. The left-hander is 2-2 this season with a 2.86 ERA and only 47 strikeouts over 50.1 innings. Pederson took on the New York Yankees in his last start and lost the game 8-2. He gave up just one earned run of the Yankees’ eight, while striking out four batters in 6.0 innings.
