After a base hit, Trea Turner was able to score the first run of the game on an over-throw from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It stayed a 1-0 game until the seventh inning with Bryan Stott hit an RBI single, scoring Max Kepler and Brandon Marsh grounded out, scoring Nick Castellanos. Tommy Edman his a two-run homer in the ninth, but LA couldn’t find the game-tying run.

Roki Sasaki will get the ball to start the game for Los Angeles in this second game on the road. The right-hander has pitched twice this season, heading into this start with a 5.79 ERA. He was not handed a decision in either of his first two games. He pitched just 1.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and four walks in his last game against the Detroit Tigers.

Philadelphia will move down the rotation to Aaron Nola, another ace in the starting five. The right-hander brings an inflated 8.44 ERA into this game with a 0-1 record after a 5-1 loss to the Washington Nationals in his first start. He allowed five earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and no walks in 5.1 innings in that start.
