The division-leading Dodgers, off a series win at San Diego earlier in the week, will counter with 26-year-old Japanese import Yoshinobu Yamamoto (6-4, 2.20 ERA), who is winless in his last two starts as the Los Angeles offense has totaled just four runs of support in those outings.

In his 16^th season in the majors and fourth with Los Angeles, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman ranks third in the league, hitting a career-best .347 this season. The 35-year-old Villa Park, California native posted an electric month in May, hitting .410 with four home runs and 21 RBI,s including 14 multi-hit games. Freeman is on pace for his fifth career 100-RBI season after eclipsing that mark in each of his first two seasons in Los Angeles.

The Giants will be without the services of third baseman Matt Chapman, who leads the team in home runs and is fifth on the team in RBIs this season, as he has landed on the 10-day Injured List with a hand injury suffered in Sunday’s win against Atlanta.

This is the first of nine games between the division rivals this season after the Dodgers took eight of 12 games in 2024. Los Angeles has dominated this series at home, winning eight of the last nine at home, dating back to September of 2023.
