The Miami Marlins host the San Francisco Giants who are trying to get back on track Friday.

The San Francisco Giants look to end a three-game losing streak when they start this weekend’s series against the Miami Marlins on Friday night. The Giants have lost four of their last five games in one of their toughest stretches of an otherwise good start to the season. San Francisco has dropped into third place in the NL West in the process and is now three games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers. This is the first series of the season between these NL opponents. The good news for the Giants is that they are the -180 favorites to win the opener tonight even on the road.

The Giants were swept in their last series against the Detroit Tigers on the road by losing their last game on Wednesday 4-3. Justyn-Henry Malloy hit a go-ahead single in the fifth where Detroit scored all of their runs. That stretch knocked Landen Roupp out of the game after he pitched great in the four innings preceding it and San Francisco was up 3-0 at that point. The Giants offense was highlighted by a two-run homer in the fifth by Heliot Ramos. The Giants will try to bounce back by starting Kyle Harrison who is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA.

The Marlins are coming off a 10-8 win against the San Diego Padres to avoid getting swept on Wednesday in the series finale. Agustin Ramirez had one of the best days of his career, collecting four hits for the first time. If that wasn’t enough, he hit a homer and a two-run single to fuel the comeback victory. Ramirez drove in four runs total on the day. Cal Quantrill will get the start for Miami tonight. The righty is 3-4 with a 6.09 ERA, but he’s only given up two runs combined in his last two starts.
