Robbie Ray will look to remain undefeated on the season when he gets the start for the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 of this series against the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

The San Francisco Giants go for the series win against the Miami Marlins on Saturday afternoon. This is the first series of the season between these two NL opponents. The Giants took the opener on Friday winning a pitcher’s duel by a 2-0 final. The win was a nice bounce-back for the Giants after getting swept by the Detroit Tigers in their last series. Even with the win, San Francisco didn’t make up any ground in the NL West standings with both the Dodgers and Padres winning on Friday as well. The Giants are expected to be the favorites to win this series today with the -175 line even on the road. Miami is trying to avoid losing four of its last five games with a loss in Game 2.

The Marlins just couldn’t get on the board on Friday after scoring 10 in their previous game. That had a lot to do with Kyle Harrison who went five scoreless innings while only giving up one run while striking out five to get his first win of the season. The Giants scored in the first inning off a Wilmer Flores RBI single and Matt Chapman hit a homer in the fourth, providing all the run support the Giants would need. It shouldn’t go unnoticed that Cal Quantrill pitched a good game for the Marlins even though he was saddled with the loss giving up two runs in five innings. It didn’t help that Miami was limited to just three hits the entire game.

The Marlins will try to bounce back today by starting Edward Cabrera. The righty is 1-1 with a 4.73 ERA. The Giants will go for the series victory by starting Robbie Ray who is having an outstanding season so far. The former AL Cy Young winner is making a bid to win the same award in the NL with a 7-0 record with a 2.56 ERA.
