The Guardians look to clinch a series win on Saturday afternoon when they play the Pirates

The Cleveland Guardians go for their second straight win on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Guardians snapped a two-game losing streak on Friday when they beat the Pirates 10-7. The Guardians erased an early one-run deficit and then had to hold off a late rally to get the win. The victory got them back over .500 on the season at 10-9 and was just their second win in five games. Saturday they will send Ben Lively to the mound looking to clinch the series. Lively has struggled to start the season and is still searching for his first win. He comes into Saturday 0-2 with a 4.87 ERA. In his last start he went six innings against the Kansas City Royals. He gave up seven hit and four runs in the loss. It was the second time he has given up seven hits and four runs in a start this season.

The loss on Friday night snapped a two-game winning streak for the Pirates and dropped them to 8-13 on the season. They now sit in last place in the NL Central, a game and a half back of the St. Louis Cardinals for fourth place.

The Pirates will start ace Paul Skenes on Saturday as they try and even the series against the Guardians.

Skenes comes into Saturday 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA. He struggled two starts ago as he gave up five runs and six hits against the Cardinals, but he bounced back on Monday when he went six innings and gave up just two runs and three hits in a win against the Washington Nationals.
