On the other side, the Reds finished up a series yesterday against the Chicago White Sox, losing two of the three games and nearly getting swept. They escaped with a win yesterday, 7-1, to avoid it. They are now 21-24 on the season, sitting as the second-to-last place team in the NL Central, 5.5 games up on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Tanner Bibee will take the mound for Cleveland in this series-opening game. The right-hander has an even record at 3-3 this season with a 3.80 ERA and 31 strikeouts through 45.0 innings. He tied a season-low with only one earned run conceded in his last start with three strikeouts, lasting 7.0 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Cincinnati will give the ball back to Brady Singer to start the game on the mound. The right-hander is looking to get back on his run of dominant starts at 4-2 on the season with a 4.97 ERA. He has 39 total strikeouts in 41.2 innings. He had a season-worst outing in his last start, giving up seven earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout before leaving after just 2.1 innings.
