The Cleveland Guardians will continue a four-game series in Detroit, Michigan, on Saturday afternoon in the third game of this weekend’s series against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The Guardians took both of the first two games of this series on Thursday and Friday nights. They shut out the Tigers 7-0 in the first game on a dynamic performance from Tanner Bibee. He threw seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Angel Martinez blasted his second homer of the season with three RBIs while Carlos Santana also had two RBIs in the win.

On Friday, Cleveland came away with a closer, 3-1 win. Slade Cecconi picked up win No. 1 on the season after throwing 6.0 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts. All of Cleveland’s runs were off RBIs, two singles and a triple. Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Santana had the three RBIs while Kwan and Ramirez also had runs.

Luis Ortiz will take the mound for Cleveland in the third game of this series. The right-hander is looking for his third win of the season, heading into this game with a 2-5 record with a 4.66 ERA. He has season totals of 56 strikeouts over 48.1 innings. Ortiz took on the Cincinnati Reds in his last start and went 5.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.

Detroit will start the game with Casey Mize on the mound. The right-hander is 6-1 this season with a 2.53 ERA and only 35 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. Mize will return from the 15-day disabled list after last starting a game at the beginning of May when he hurt his hamstring. He threw 6.0 innings against the Colorado Rockies, allowing one earned run with eight strikeouts.
