On Wednesday evening, the Cincinnati Reds will take their home field at Great American Ball Park for the second game of a three-game series against the visiting Seattle Mariners. The hometown team took the first game of the series on Tuesday, as the Reds came back late and overpowered the Mariners 8-4. Seattle took the early lead with two home runs from Dylan Moore in the first and third innings, mixed with an RBI from Moore as well in the second inning to jump out to a 4-2 lead by the end of the fifth inning.

Cincinnati came cruising back after that, taking the lead 6-4 on a three-run home run from Austin Hays in the bottom of the fifth inning. After RBIs from Matt McClain and Elly De La Cruz in the eighth inning, Cincinnati ended up winning 8-4 despite an absolute dominant performance from Moore, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two home runs, and four RBIs.

Bryce Miller will get the start for Seattle in the second game of this series on the road. The right-hander is winless this season at 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 16.0 innings pitched. His last start was the best of the season for Miller. He gave up just one earned run on two hits over five innings with five strikeouts in a 5-3 win over the Texas Rangers.

Cincinnati will move down the rotation to Nick Martinez starting this middle game of the series. The right-hander is also winless with a 0-2 record and a high ERA at 6.06. He has 15 strikeouts in 16.1 innings. He gave up four earned runs, tied for his highest of the season in his last start against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed seven hits over 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts, his most of the year.
