Division leading Mariners continue their 10-game road trip as series begins on the Southside against the White Sox
On a four-game losing streak, including a weekend sweep at the hands of the cross-town Cubs, the Chicago White Sox open a six-game home stand on Monday as they welcome the AL West Division leading Seattle Mariners into Rate Field on Monday night for the first game of their three-game series. The Mariners have won four of their last five games after sweeping the Padres over the weekend and are in search of their sixth consecutive road win as they send their ace Luis Castillo (3-3, 3.65 ERA) to the mound as the veteran right hander aims for his first win in four May starts.

Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh ranks second in Major League Baseball with his team-leading 15 home runs after blasting a pair of dingers over the weekend. Off a breakout season in 2024, Raleigh is already halfway to his third consecutive 30-home run season after hitting 34 homers and posting his first career 100-RBI season a year ago, also taking home Gold Glove and Platinum Glove awards for his defensive prowess behind the plate. The 28-year-old North Carolina native was a third-round pick by the Mariners in the 2018 MLB Draft before making his big league debut in July of 2021.
The White Sox will start right-hander Davis Martin (2-4, 3.65 ERA) who has held opponents to three earned runs or less in five of his last seven starts but has only received more than four runs in support twice in those seven outings.
Seattle won six of the seven games against the White Sox in 2024, outscoring Chicago 38-17 in those meetings last season. Since April of 2022, the Mariners have won six of their last seven at Rate Field with all six runs coming by three or more runs.
