The Atlanta Braves continue their six-game home stand on Saturday night when they play the Miami Marlins. The Braves finally got their first win of the season on Friday when they shut out the Marlins 10-0 in the series opener. The Braves had gone out west for the first seven games of the year and were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. It was a horrible start to the season and had them at 0-7 when they came home for their first game on their own field on Friday. They took out their frustration on the Marlins as they recorded 16 hits in the win. Saturday they will try to win a second straight game when they send AJ Smith-Shawver to the mound. Smith-Shawver went just four innings in his first start as he gave up two runs on six hits. He walked three and strck out four in the 5-0 loss to the Padres.

The Marlins will counter with Cal Quantrill as they try to even the series with the Braves and avoid a third straight loss.

Quantrill is in his first season with the Marlins and in his eighth overall. He has pitched with the Padres, Cleveland Guardians and Colorado Rockies previously.

His first start for the Marlins did not go well as he gave up six runs in four innings against the New York Mets on Monday. The Marlins would lose that game 10-4 and they are needing him to be much better on Saturday night.

The Marlins won three of their first four games to start the season, but have followed that up by losing three of their next four and they currently sit at 4-4.
