Roger Dean Stadium is set to host the exciting mid-week matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins on Tuesday in MLB spring training action. The Cardinals are coming off of a 2024 Major League Baseball regular season campaign in which they finished just outside of the playoff picture in second place in the National League Central table with an overall record of 83-79. The team finished 10 games behind the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers, who finished the season with a mark of 93-69. The Brewers didn’t make it out of the NL Wild Card in their matchup against the New York Mets. The two teams met at American Family Field in Game 1, where the Mets took an 8-4 win from Milwaukee. Brice Turang, Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick all scored runs in the loss at home.

Then, in Game 2, the team from Milwaukee bounced back to take a 5-3 victory at American Family Field. This time, Chourio scored two runs to go along with scores from Willy Adames, Garrett Mitchell and Turang to give the team life heading into the rubber match.
Finally, New York came away with the series victory in Game 3 thanks to a 4-2 win in Milwaukee. Frelick and Jake Bauers got on the board in the loss that eliminated them from the postseason.
Meanwhile, the Marlins finished last season in last place in the NL East, courtesy of an overall record of 62-100. Only the Chicago White Sox (121) and Colorado Rockies (101) lost more games than Miami last season.
