The San Diego Padres host the Miami Marlins on Wednesday in MLB action, with Kyle Hart and Sandy Alcantara taking the mound.

Petco Park is set to host the exciting mid-week matchup between the San Diego Padres and the Miami Marlins on Wednesday in MLB regular season action. The two teams got the first of the three-game series underway on Monday in San Diego, where the Padres were able to come away with a narrow 4-3 victory at home. Manny Machado, Tyler Wade, Xander Bogaerts and Jake Cronenworth all scored runs to help secure the slim win, with Machado’s score being a solo home run. In Game 2, Padres pitcher Stephen Kolek became the first pitcher to earn a win after allowing at least six runs in the first inning since Mark Buehrle did so for the White Sox in 2006 in an 8-6 win over the Marlins.

The Marlins defense was lacking in Game 2, as second baseman Ronny Simon committed three errors, plus another misplay that was initially ruled an error but changed to a hit.

In Game 1 Jesús Sánchez scored two of Miami’s three runs, to go along with another score from Agustín Ramírez. One of Sánchez scores was a solo home run, but it still wasn’t enough.

Ryan Weathers started off the series on the mound for the Marlins with the pitcher going 5.2 innings and striking out six San Diego batters along the way.
