Miami will opt to start Cal Quantrill on the mound in the second game of this weekend’s series. The right-hander is 1-1 this season and has eight strikeouts through 14.0 innings with a high 5.79 ERA. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts over 5.0 innings pitched in his last start, which was his worst of the season.
Taijuan Walker will take the mound for the hometown Philadelphia tonight. The right-hander has been great this season with a 2.30 ERA and a 1-1 record. He has only 14 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. Walker allowed four earned runs on six hits over 5.0 innings with five strikeouts in his last start against the San Francisco Giants. Those were his first runs given up this season after two previous scoreless starts.
