After a 10-inning win to tie this series, the Miami Marlins face off against the Tampa Bay Rays in the rubber match of this season series finale.

These two Florida rivals face off for the last time when the Tampa Bay Rays host the Miami Marlins for this series finale. The Marlins won the first series back in Miami in May 2-1. This series is split so far heading into this rubber match. Both games have been incredibly close, with Tampa Bay winning the first game of the series 4-3 and then Miami coming back to tie it on Saturday, winning 11-10 in 10 innings. The Saturday win ended a five-game losing streak for Miami, and the loss for Tampa Bay ended a four-game winning streak. The good news for the Rays is that they are the huge -250 favorite at home early this afternoon to win this series and tie the season series on Sunday.

It was all about the Jesus Sanchez show on Saturday as he took over the game, hitting a three-run homer and driving in two more runs on a double. Heriberto Hernandez made sure none of that production went to wast,e driving in the winning run on a single in the top of the 10th inning. Miami got down four quick in the second inning but bounced back even quicker in the third, scoring four of its own, fueled by that Sanchez homer. The Marlins put up another six in the fifth inning but did not score again until extras. Tampa Bay kept climbing back, but they couldn’t finish the job, going down in order in the bottom of the 10th.

The Rays are 10 games ahead of the Marlins in the win column and will also have the advantage on the mound today, aiming to win this series. Tampa will start Drew Rasmussen, who is 5-4 with an incredible 2.14 ERA, which is good for ninth overall in the majors. The Marlins will counter with Anthony Veneziano, who will be making his first start of the season. He has appeared in 21 games over 17.2 innings with a 4.58 ERA.
