Leadoff hitter Xavier Edwards went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. Kyle Stowers and Dane Myers both posted two RBIs.

Miami will start Sandy Alcantara in the third game. The right-hander is 4-8 this season with a 7.01 ERA and 67 strikeouts over 86 innings. Alcantara gave up five earned runs on five hits over six innings with four strikeouts in his last start that ended in a 6-5 loss over the Milwaukee Brewers. Abbott, who is in his fourth season with the team, gave up four earned runs against the Philadelphia Phillies in his last start. He lasted just 3.1 innings with nine hits and two strikeouts.
