LoanDepot Park is set to host the exciting weekend matchup between the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets on Sunday in MLB regular season action. In the series prior to the one against the Mets, the Marlins took two out of three games against the Detroit Tigers to start the week. In game one on Monday, Miami fell in a narrow 6-5 finish against Detroit at Comerica Park. Sixto Sánchez started on the mound for the Marlins, going for nearly five innings and allowing five hits and striking out two batters in that span. Meanwhile, Otto López hit the team’s lone home run in the game, to go along with RBIs from Bryan De La Cruz, Josh Bell and Jesús Sánchez.

The Fish then bounced back in game two on Tuesday, coming away with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Tigers in Detroit. Ryan Weathers went for eight innings on the mound where he allowed just four hits. Meanwhile, Sánchez had the team’s lone RBI in the win away from home.
Miami then closed out the series at Comerica Park with a 2-0 win over Detroit. De La Cruz hit a two-run home run in the top of the first innings, and no other runs were scored by either team in the rest of the game.
