The New York Mets go for the series sweep in their final game of the season against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

The New York Mets go for the season series sweep against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon. This series hasn’t been all that close, with the Mets having the chance to win six games against Colorado in this final game of the season between these two. The Mets cruised to this series victory in Denver on Saturday, winning 8-1. New York is going for its fourth win in its last five games today. The Mets still hold a two-game lead in the NL East over the Philadelphia Phillies. The Rockies came off their first series sweep of the season, but have fallen flat here at home. New York is the big -225 favorite to sweep this series this afternoon.

The Mets got off to a great start and never looked back in Game 2 from the outset, with Francisco Lindor hitting a lead-off single and then stealing second even with a broken toe. It was a sign of things to come for the Rockies as the Mets dominated 8-1 on Saturday. If that wasn’t enough for Lindor, the Mets superstar had three hits on the night and two stolen bases. Ronny Mauricio hit an absolute moonshot for the first run of the game in the second deck, going 456 feet. Clay Holmes cruised to victory, improving to 7-3, giving up only one run even though he gave up nine hits in six innings while striking out six. The Mets bullpen shut down the Rockies, only giving up one hit the rest of the game.

The Rockies will try to avoid the sweep by starting their promising high-draft pick rookie Chase Dollander, who is 2-5 with a 6.26 ERA. The Mets will counter with Tylor Megill, who is 4-4 with a 3.77 ERA.
