The New York Mets and Minnesota Twins will decide their series on Wednesday in a Minneapolis matinee.

The New York Mets (11-6) can win their fifth straight series on Wednesday when they take on the Minnesota Twins (6-12) at Target Field in Minneapolis. Conversely, the Twins are looking for just their second series victory after the teams have split the first two games. Minnesota shortstop Carlos Correa is expected to undergo an MRI on his sore left wrist after leaving Tuesday night’s game in the fifth inning, while outfielder Matt Wallner also left the game in the first inning with a tight left hamstring. He has a team-best .847 OPS.

The Twins scored in five straight innings on Tuesday night, getting 13 hits in a 6-3 victory. Harrison Bader’s RBI infield single in the fourth gave them the lead for good and Brooks Lee, who entered the game when Correa left, helped pad the advantage with a seventh inning home run. Bader and Byron Buxton lead the club with three homers apiece, with Bader driving in 11 runs.

New York got solo homers from Pete Alonso and Juan Soto, but a Francisco Lindor error in the third led to a pair of unearned runs. Alonso had a pair of hits and is slashing .356/.466/.729 with five home runs and 20 RBIs. Soto’s homer on Tuesday was his third of the season.

Right-hander David Festa is scheduled to make his second start for Minnesota after pitching 4.2 scoreless innings against the Detroit Tigers on Friday. He was brought up from Triple-A St. Paul when Pablo López was placed on the 15-day DL. The Mets scratched right-hander Griffin Canning from his scheduled start due to an illness and are expected to recall right-hander Justin Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse to work the bulk of the innings.
