The Marlins look for their fifth straight win when they take on the Houston Astros in the second game of this series.
The entire NL East is heating up. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies got off to a rough start but are now in the thick of the Wild Card race. The Phillies alone have won eight in a row so the urgency for the Marlins will definitely be there in Houston tonight.

The Astros will try to avoid losing three straight games tonight. The Marlins’ victory was never really in doubt as they won 7-4. Miami was led once again by Jazz Chisholm Jr. who hit his second multi-homer game of the week. He didn’t waste any time hitting a home run in the first at-bat of the game on his way to a three-RBI night.
The Astros aren’t panicking in any sense as they have a comfortable nine-game lead in the AL West. They’ll try to bounce back here today though and they have just the guy starting to do it. Framber Valdez will take the mound with a 6-2 record with a 2.61 ERA. The Marlins will counter with Braxton Garrett in a battle of lefties. Garrett, selected seventh overall in the 2016 draft, is 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA but in just 3.1 innings on the season. He’ll hope to have a better performance than his season debut against the Giants last week.
