The Los Angeles Angels host the Baltimore Orioles to start a three-game weekend series starting on Friday. Watch free on Fubo.

The Baltimore Orioles look to turn things around and end a five-game losing streak when they travel to start this series with the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night. This is not how anyone anticipated the Orioles season going after an inspiring run to the playoffs last season. They are coming off a sweep to the Minnesota Twins in their last series to drop to 13-23 with a 5-14 road record. The Angels aren’t where they want to be overall but they are coming off a series victory against the Toronto Blue Jays. Both teams are in last place in their respective divisions. Despite these trends and LA being at home, Baltimore is still the -155 favorite to earn the series opener.

The Orioles are coming off back-to-back 5-2 losses at the hands of the Twins. Baltimore’s most recent loss came on Thursday afternoon. The Orioles scored runs in the second and third and held a lead until the sixth. The game was tied until the eighth inning when Brooks Lee hit a go-ahead double to score two runs that effectively won the game. Baltimore still lost despite collecting 10 hits but they left nine runners on base. Tomoyuki Sugano will get the start tonight for Baltimore with a 3-2 record and a 3.00 ERA.

The Angels missed out on their opportunity to sweep the Blue Jays on Thursday in the series finale dropping 8-5. Toronto pulled off a huge comeback after being down four after just two innings. But LA couldn’t score again until the seventh on a sac fly and by then it was too late. Anthony Santander hit a go-ahead two-run single that broke open the game giving the Blue Jays a four-run sixth inning. Los Angeles will try to bounce back today by starting Kyle Hendricks who is 1-3 with a 5.28 ERA.
