The Arizona Diamondbacks look to strike back to get even in this series Tuesday when they host the Baltimore Orioles.

The Baltimore Orioles go for the series win against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road on Tuesday. The D’backs are trying to avoid a four-game losing streak after they’ve already lost four of their last five games. This is after Arizona started the season 4-2. Both teams are trying to get back to .500 with a win today. Before this series opening win, Baltimore had lost four of its last five games. Arizona will be the slight favorite at home today to tie this series with a -120 line in its corner. This is the only series of the season of this interleague matchup.

The Orioles won on Monday 5-1 where Arizona could only score on a sacrifice fly. That is mostly because Zach Eflin went a strong six innings only giving up four hits and the one run to earn his second win of the season. The only problem was that Eflin left the game with shoulder fatigue. Eflin labeled the exit as precautionary and said he doesn’t expect the issue to be a long-term setback. It was a battle of pitchers with similar names with Arizona ace Zac Gallen struggling going 4.2 innings giving up all five runs and seven hits. Ryan Mountcastle hit a crucial two-RBI single with two outs in the fifth to knock Gallen out of the game.

Arizona will try to bounce back and even this series by starting another one of its best pitchers in Merrill Kelly. The righty is looking to forget his last start where he gave up all nine runs to the New York Yankees in 3.2 innings in a 9-7 loss. It was a complete 180 from his opening start to the season where he earned the win against the Chicago Cubs only giving up one run in 5.2 innings. Baltimore will counter by starting veteran Charlie Morton. So far the transition to his new club hasn’t gone according to plan since coming over from the Atlanta Braves in the offseason. Morton is 0-2 and gave up five runs in five innings in a loss against Boston in his last start but the big win in that game was that he struck out 10.
