AL East foes continue four-game series as the Rays aim for fifth straight win overall and fourth straight victory over the Orioles

After their three-game winning streak was emphatically snapped in yesterday’s 7-1 home loss, the Baltimore Orioles continue their seven-game road trip on Tuesday night as they look to snap a road losing streak against the Tampa Bay Rays. On their fourth winning streak of four or more games already this season, the Rays are just 2.5 games out of the top spot in the American League East and are 13-2 in their last 15 games at home. Tampa Bay will start veteran right-hander Zack Littell (6-6, 3.84 ERA) off his worst outing since April, where he allowed four earned runs on eight hits in a 4-3 road loss at Boston on Wednesday. The Orioles will counter with righty Dean Kremer (5-7, 4.99 ERA,) who has surrendered four or more earned runs in four of his last six outings.

Tampa Bay’s corner infielding combo of first baseman Jonathan Aranda and third baseman Junior Caminero paces the team in nearly every offensive category with Aranda’s team-high .324 batting average and Caminero’s 17 home runs to go along with 45 RBIs through their first 68 games. In his third season in the majors, the 21-year-old Caminero and 27-year-old Aranda have already established career highs in hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs and stolen bases this season. Caminero has homered twice in his last three games and Aranda is hitting .340 in June with six multi-hit games so far this month.

Former AL Rookie of the Year Gunnar Henderson is hitting .373 in June and comes into Tuesday on a nine-game hitting streak.

The Rays have won four of the last five games in this series and have outscored the Orioles 18-5 in that span.
