After a walkoff in the first game of a double header, the Boston Red Sox go for the series win against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday.

The Boston Red Sox go for the series win against the Baltimore Orioles in this four-game set in the finale on Sunday afternoon. The Red Sox won the first two games of this series but slipped up on Saturday in Game 3, losing 2-1 in a great pitcher’s duel. Boston still leads the season series 4-2 overall. There were two games in this series that were postponed due to weather so these AL East rivals played a doubleheader on Saturday with the Red Sox winning the first game 6-5 in 10 innings. These two close one-run games in the double header was a far cry from the opener where Boston won astoundingly 19-5. The Red Sox look to move a game over .500 with a win Sunday. They are still 5.5 games out of first behind the New York Yankees but the good news for them is that the Red Sox are the -145 favorite at home to win this series today.

The Red Sox won the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday which was a makeup game from Friday’s matchup off a walk-off single from Rafael Devers. The Orioles weren’t able to score after the fifth inning in another game that was affected by rain. Baltimore bounced back in the second game of the day. Both starters were great but neither got the win. Trevor Rogers went 6.1 scoreless innings for the Orioles only giving up two hits. Lucas Giolito went six scoreless innings while giving up six hits and striking out six. The Orioles scored the first run in the eighth inning on a RBI single from first baseman Ryan O’Hearn. Dylan Carlson got the much-needed insurance run on an RBI double in the ninth. The O’s needed that since Abraham Toro hit a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth for Boston.

This game should get underway with the temperature near 60 degrees at game time. The forecast is partly cloudy with only a seven percent chance of rain. Boston will go for the series win by starting Walker Buehler who is 4-1 with a 4.00 ERA. Baltimore will start Dean Kremer who is 3-5 with a 5.50 ERA.
