The Detroit Tigers try to host the Baltimore Orioles after a false start for a doubleheader on Saturday. The opener of this series was supposed to go down on Friday night but it was postponed due to forecasted inclement weather. The Friday night game has been moved to Saturday night. The first game of this doubleheader will go ahead as regularly scheduled this afternoon at 1:10 p.m. ET. The second game will start at 6:10 p.m. ET. This is the first series of the season between these American League opponents. Detroit will be the slight favorite in the opener with a -125 line. They should be as the Tigers have been impressive at Comerica Park with a 10-3 record.

Baltimore is coming off a win to avoid getting swept by the Washington Nationals on Thursday by a 2-1 final. The Orioles ended a three-game losing streak in the process. Cade Povich was great in the start going 6.2 innings while only giving up four hits and one run. Ryan O’Hearn and Cedric Mullins both had RBI singles in the fifth which is all the offense the Orioles would need. The Orioles will start Brandon Young in the opener today. The righty is looking for his first win of the season with a 0-0 record and a 6.75 ERA. Young went four innings giving up three runs in a no decision against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Tigers are coming off a series win against the San Diego Padres with a 6-0 win in the rubber match on Wednesday. Reese Olson (3-1) was dominate in the win just giving up two hits in 7.1 innings to get his third win of the season. Justyn-Henry Malloy was the star on offense getting a homer and a double to drive in two runs. Casey Mize will get the start for the Tigers this afternoon. He also has a 3-1 record with a 2.22 ERA and showed out in his last start earning the win against the Kansas City Royals going seven innings while only giving up one run on three hits.
