New York advanced directly into the ALDS to face the Kansas City Royals, with the Yankees taking a 3-1 series victory. New York won game one of the series 6-5 thanks to runs from Gleyber Torres (two), Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Alex Verdugo (two).

Then, the Yankees fell in a 4-2 finish against KC in game two, followed by another narrow 3-2 victory in game three. This time, Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Volpe all scored runs to take the one.

Finally, the team from New York sealed the series over the Royals in game four with a 3-1 victory at Kauffman Stadium. Torres, Judge and Verdugo all reached home base in the win away from home.

The Yankees then went on to face the Guardians in the ALCS, where New York took a 4-1 series victory, putting the team through to the World Series.

The Yankees ended up losing in five games to the Dodgers.
