Meanwhile, Stephen Kolek got the start on the mound for the Padres, with the pitcher going for 5.2 innings where he allowed just three hits to go along with his three strikeouts. Logan Webb got the start for San Francisco, where he went for eight innings and struck out seven San Diego batters along the way.

The Padres are coming off of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend, which began with a 3-2 victory for San Diego on Friday at Petco Park.

Fernando Tatís Jr., Luis Arráez and Manny Machado all scored to help secure the narrow win over the Pirates at home. Nick Pivetta got the start and went for six innings, striking out eight batters in that span.

Then, the Padres fell in a 5-0 finish in Game 2, before bouncing back to close out the series with a 6-4 victory at Petco Park.
