PNC Park is set to host the exciting weekend matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Diego Padres on Saturday in MLB regular season action. The Padres are coming off of a two-game series against the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park to start the week. The two teams met in game one in San Diego on Tuesday, where the Padres were able to come away with a 7-4 victory to start the series off. Gavin Sheets and Xander Bogaerts scored a pair of runs apiece in the three-run win at home, to go along with runs from Manny Machado, Jason Heyward and Elías Díaz. Nick Pivetta started on the mound for the team from Southern California, with the pitcher going for over five innings where he struck out nine San Francisco batters.

Then, the Padres were able to take a 5-3 victory over the Giants in the second game of the series on Wednesday at Petco Park.

This time, Fernando Tatís Jr., Luis Arráez, Sheets and Díaz all crossed home plate in the two-run win in San Diego. Michael King went for nearly six innings on the mound for the Padres, where he struck out six batters and gave up one of the three runs San Francisco scored in the game.

The Padres then took a 9-4 win over the Pirates in the first game of the current series at PNC Park.
