On Sunday the Detroit Tigers has a three game winning streak snapped. They’ll try to start a new one on Monday as the San Diego Padres come to town for a three game series, continuing the Tigers 10 game homestand.

Monday’s MLB slate includes an interleague matchup as the Detroit Tigers (13-9) play host to the San Diego Padres (16-6) in the first game of a three games series. Both teams come into this game in first place in their respective divisions. The Padres in particular have the best record in baseball through four weeks of the season, and are the only team in the league with a winning percentage over .700 entering play on Monday.

This past weekend, the Padres did lose a series – something that has been a rarity for them this year. It was another interleague series, that saw them visiting the Houston Astros for the first half of a sox game road trip. They lost the first two games, before winning 3-2 on Sunday to salvage one game. Right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a home run for the Padres in that game.

As the Padres look to start another winning streak, they’ll send righty Randy Vásquez to the mound on Monday. In 20.2 innings over four starts this year, Vásquez has a 1.74 ERA and 1.35 WHIP.

The Tigers began their homestand hosting the Kansas City Royals in an American League Central matchup. They won the first three of those games, but then lost 4-3 in extra innings on Sunday.
