On Tuesday night, the Houston Astros (46-33) hosted the Philadelphia Phillies (47-32) in an Interleague matchup between two teams leading their respective divisions – the American League West for the Astros and National League East for the Phillies. That first game of this three-game series came down to the wire, as a solo home run by Astros left fielder Cooper Hummel in the eighth inning proved to be the only run in a 1-0 Houston win. After that intense game the teams will be back on the field against each other on Wednesday night for the middle game of the series.

This series is also a rematch of the 2022 World Series. The Astros won that one in six games. In the seven meetings since the Phillies have won four games, including Houston’s win on Tuesday.

Coming into Wednesday’s game the Phillies have won nine of their last 12 games. That includes taking two of three games from the New York Mets over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Astros have won 10 of their last 13 games. They recently returned from a seven-game road trip, which saw them go 4-3, including one extra innings win and one extra innings loss.
