The Phillies took the first game of the series on Tuesday with an 8-3 win on the back of six innings and one earned run from Chrisopher Sanchez. Trea Turner had a dominant time at the plate that night, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two home runs, and three RBIs. He is now batting .305. Bryce Harper also homered in his first game back after a five-game absence.

Nick Castellanos put Philadelphia ahead 1-0 in the second inning before Bo Bichette tied the game on an RBI triple in the sixth. Going into the ninth inning 1-1, Alejandro Kirk hit a walk-off RBI single.

Jesus Luzardo will head to the mound to close out this series for Philadelphia. The left-hander is looking for his sixth win of the season, going into this start at 5-1. This season, Luzardo has a 3.58 ERA with 81 strikeouts in 70.1 innings. He had his worst outing of the season last weekend, giving up 12 earned runs on 12 hits over 3.1 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Toronto will continue this three-game series with Chris Bassitt on the mound. The right-hander is 5-3 in his 2025 campaign with a 3.80 ERA and 69 strikeouts over 66.1 innings. Bassitt has allowed five or more earned runs in each of his last two starts, 10 over his last nine innings. He gave up 16 hits in that time with eight strikeouts.
