    The Phillies and Marlins begin a four-game series in Miami on Monday night.

    After completing a series sweep over Toronto at home over the weekend, the Philadelphia Phillies begin a four-game series against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park on Monday night. The Phillies are coming off a series sweep over the Blue Jays that improved their record to 42-29 on the season. Philly is in second place in the competitive NL East while holding the top Wild Card spot in the National League. Miami, on the other hand, sits in last place in the NL East with a 28-41 record and a 14-20 record at home. The Marlins are 5-5 in their last 10 games with a three-game winning streak, and will send righty Sandy Alcantara to the mound against Phillies righty Mick Abel in the series opener.

    Most recently, the Phillies completed a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays with an 11-4 victory over Toronto on Sunday. Zack Wheeler pitched six strong innings, allowing only one run while striking out nine batters. Phillies DH Nick Castellanos hit a sixth-inning grand slam to break the game open, with the Philies tallying 18 hits in the win. 

    As for Miami, the Marlins completed a sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Nationals on the road on Sunday. Dane Myers’s solo shot in the second inning gave the Marlins a 2-1 lead in the second inning, and they’d take on an insurance run with a sac fly in the top of the seventh inning. Miami’s four pitchers held the Nats to one run on six hits in the series finale.
