The Mets have taken the first two games of the series at home and are now 17-7 on the season. They won the first game 5-4 on the back of Tylor Megill’s third win of the season. He pitched 5.1 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. Francisco Lindor homered twice in that win with two runs and four RBIs. Jesse Winker also blasted one out of the park for the other run.

Yesterday’s win for the Mets was just as dominant, winning 5-1. Griffin Canning allowed the one run over his five innings. He was credited with the win with five strikeouts. Ironically, no home runs were hit in that win. Pete Alonso, Mark Vientos, and Lindor all had one RBI each, while Luis Torrens led the team with two RBIs.

Philadelphia takes the field looking to avoid the sweep with its ace pitcher Zack Wheeler. The right-hander is 2-1 this season with a 3.73 ERA. He has 41 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched in his 2025 campaign. His last start ended in a 7-2 win against the Miami Marlins after he allowed two earned runs on five hits with a massive 13 strikeouts in seven innings.

Drew Peterson will be back up in the rotation for New York, starting this series-closing game. The left-hander is 1-1 this year with a 3.27 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 22 total innings. He won his last start, beating the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4, though he wasn’t credited with the win. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
