Alec Burleson belted a go-ahead two-run double in the bottom of the sixth on Tuesday night to lift the Cardinals to a 2-1 victory, as Matthew Liberatore allowed just a run on three hits with eight strikeouts in a season-high seven innings. Brendan Donovan comes in slashing .333/.389/.863 and shared the team lead of 19 RBIs with Willson Contreras. Contreras and Lars Nootbaar each have five home runs to pace the club.

Paul Skenes fell to 0-4 in five career starts against St. Louis, as the Pirates were limited to just four hits. Ke’Bryan Hayes broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth with an RBI double, before St. Louis struck back in the bottom of the frame. Oneil Cruz enters play with a .246/.381/.492 slash line, leading the team with eight home runs and 15 stolen bases, while Bryan Reynolds has a team-best 19 RBI.

Veteran right-hander Sonny Gray (3-1) gets the ball for the Cardinals in the series finale. In seven starts, Gray has a 4.12 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 39.1 innings and comes off his first loss of the campaign on Friday. Pittsburgh goes with Mitch Keller (1-3), with the right-hander coming into play with a 4.38 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in seven starts and 39 innings. He also comes off a loss on Friday.
