Mike Burrows and George Kirby will battle on the mound as the Pirates continue a three-game series against the Mariners on Saturday.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will take the field at T-Mobile Park for the second game of a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners in Washington. The Mariners took the first game at home with a 6-0 shutout win. Bryan Woo took the mound and didn’t look back. The team’s ace threw 6.0 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. He only conceded three hits and two walks in the six innings as well. As always, catcher Cal Raleigh had the pitcher’s back providing the majority of the offense for the ball club.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs, two home runs, and three RBIs. Randy Arozarena and Dylan Moore both homered in the win as well, with Moore’s being a two-run shot. Despite putting up six runs, the team only had seven hits on the holiday.

Pittsburgh will start Mike Burrows on the mound in this second game. The right-hander is 1-2 this season with a 4.15 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 34.2 innings. Burrows allowed just one earned run in his last start on four hits through 4.1 innings with five total strikeouts in a 12-1 win against the New York Mets.

On the other side of the half-inning, Seattle will start right-hander George Kirby. He is 2-4 through his 2025 campaign with a 4.85 ERA and 41 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. Kirby also allowed only one earned run in his last start as well, going 6.0 innings with five strikeouts against the Kansas City Royals.
