Major League teams are wrapping up spring training to start this week, with Opening Day just a few days away. For the Pittsburgh Pirates (14-14), their spring training finale is on Monday, when they visit the Minnesota Twins (11-15) at Hammond Stadium in South Fort Myers. After this game the Pirates won’t have to go far – in fact, they don’t even have to leave the state. The Pirates will open their 2025 regular season against the Miami Marlins on Thursday at loanDepot Park.

The Pirates will try to build up some momentum heading into Opening Day. Last time out on Sunday the Pirates lost 2-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays. In total they’ve lost four games in a row heading into this spring training finale.
For the Twins, they have one more game on Thursday, also at home against the Colorado Rockies. The Twins beat the Boston Red Sox 9-3 in their most recent game on Sunday.
Monday’s pitching matchup pits Pirates right Thomas Harrington against Twins righty Bailey Ober. It will be Harrington’s four appearance and second start of the summer. He has a 2.70 ERA in 6.2 innings this spring. Ober will be making his fifth start of the spring. He’s 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 17 innings pitched this spring.
